Der Abgabesatz zur Künstlersozialversicherung sinkt im Jahr 2018 von 4,8 % auf 4,2 %. Der Künstlersozialabgabesatz geht damit im zweiten Jahr hintereinander zurück und liegt im nächsten Jahr um einen Prozentpunkt niedriger als 2016 (5,2 %).
Die Senkung ist im Kern zurückzuführen auf die verstärkte Prüf- und Beratungstätigkeit der Deutschen Rentenversicherung und der Künstlersozialkasse seit Inkrafttreten des Gesetzes zur Stabilisierung des Künstlersozialabgabesatzes zu Beginn des Jahres 2015. In 2015 und 2016 wurden rund 50.000 abgabepflichtige Unternehmen neu erfasst. Ferner haben sich ca. 17.000 abgabepflichtige Unternehmen bei der Künstlersozialkasse gemeldet.
